Affordable Allentown health insurance rates are available from the most respected Pennsylvania companies. Geisinger, Highmark BS, UPMC and Capital Blue Cross are major carriers that offer high quality under age-65 coverage at competitive rates.  Inexpensive non-Obamacare plans are also offered several additional companies, including UnitedHealthcare. We show you the easiest way to apply for an individual plan.

It does not matter if you are self-employed, unemployed, an individual or a family. The prices we quote are the lowest allowable by each of the insurers. You can also view small and large business proposals.  Both on and off-Marketplace plans are available along with Senior products for Medicare-eligible individuals. HMO, PPO, EPO, and indemnity network coverage is offered. Applicants that qualify for Medicaid or CHIP are typically eligible for low-cost comprehensive benefits for all family members.

The Lehigh Valley Health Network, (LVHN) consists of 32 hospitals and many outpatient care, rehabilitation, doctor practices, and health center locations. 65,000 workers practice to core values of excellence, integrity, compassion, and collaboration. Hospitals are located in Hazleton, Dickson City, Allentown, Lehighton, East Stroudsburg, Easton, Pottsville, and Bethlehem. ExpressCARE provides treatment for minor injuries with no appointment required. Additionally, more than 70 locations provide lab tests and imaging. LVHN is also a member of the Jefferson Health Network.

ExpressCARE treatment facilities are located in 10 counties. There are 20 locations including  Children’s ExpressCare centers in Fogelsville and Palmer Township. Four hospital campuses feature pharmacy services. Refill options are also available through an online app. 13 community clinics and many lab medicine locations provided additional services to area residents. HNL Lab Medicine also has several locations within the network area.

Lehigh County Rates Are Low

Normally, prices in Lehigh County tend to be lower than other neighboring Pennsylvania counties such as Berks, Montgomery and Bucks. Possible explanations are the better pricing of office visits (both primary care and specialist), lower hospital daily room billing and lower malpractice insurance rates for doctors and surgeons. Most carriers can also negotiate favorable 2026 pricing with local hospitals and medical facilities within 60 miles. Some examples include:

Sacred Heart

St. Luke’s

Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest, Muhlenberg, Allentown, Dickson City, Gilbertsville, Hazleton, Macungie, East Stroudsburg, Bethlehem, and Carbon

Children’s Hospital

Coordinated Health

Easton

Grand View

Reading

Doylestown

Jefferson Lansdale

Pottstown

Hunterdon Medical Center

Hackettstown Medical Center (N.J.)

Also, lower-populated areas often have more competitive rates. Independence Blue Cross plans are available in many counties to the east, but not in Lehigh county. This, despite the fact that Allentown is the third-largest city in the state and the fastest-growing. In the future, it might be possible for IBX to offer plans in the area.

Some of the best hospitals in the area (listed above) have very good walk-in clinics, pediatric centers, community clinics and comprehensive testing and imaging facilities. Most major carriers are accepted along with most Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Least Expensive Health Insurance Plans In The Allentown Area

Although medical conditions are not considered when determining prices, your age, nicotine use, plan you select, and household income (if you qualify for a federal subsidy) will impact what you pay. Companies that offer Marketplace plans include Capital Blue Cross, Oscar, Ambetter, Geisinger, Highmark, Partners Insurance, and Jefferson Health Plans. The cheapest available plans are shown below:
